30 Nov Mesa project promises ‘social destination’ with eateries, shops, apartments and more
Construction on a new Mesa development with retail, restaurants, offices, hotels, apartments and condominiums is scheduled to begin early next year.
The project called Gallery Park is planned for 40 acres southeast of the Loop 202 and Power Road.
Phoenix-based developer Vivo Partners calls its project a “lifestyle destination.”
“I have friends, family and two business partners who all live in the southeast Valley and are tired of driving 30 to 60 minutes to find culinary-inspired places to eat next to great, energetic gathering spaces.” said Jose Pombo, partner at Vivo.
He said Gallery Park will be a "first-of-its-kind social destination” that “southeast Valley residents have been craving.”
Vivo’s plans include 400,000 square feet of offices, two hotels, 420 luxury apartments and condos situated above restaurants, retail and a movie theater.
No tenants for the project that the developer plans to open in 2020 have been named yet.
Gilbert Gateway Towne Center with several big retailers and restaurants is west of the planned development. Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is to the east.
“Southeast Mesa is still growing fast and bringing an entire, 40-acre, community with jobs, homes, entertainment and art that focuses on place making is a great fit,” said Mesa Mayor John Giles in a statement about Gallery Park.
Vivo has developed offices, apartments and self-storage facilities in Arizona.
